Summer programs include: UPLIFT New Orleans, YES! Intensive and the Youth Leadership Training Program

Following IAHV's International Youth Leadership Training Program, starting June 18th in New Orleans, graduates will implement a large event called UPLIFT New Orleans, July 14, 2007 at the New Orleans Arena - an event designed to empower New Orleans youth to make a difference in their community. Following the kickoff event, community members will then have the opportunity to immediated join hands in a series of ongoing city-wide service projects called Project UPLIFT.
UPLIFT New Orleans will be a call to action that combines live music, entertainment, meditation, spoken word, short films and talks to inspire community unity and service. UPLIFT will bring together a variety of youth groups, citizen action networks, faith based ministries, health practitioners, educators, service and volunteer organizations, and spiritual leaders to create a critical mass for peace.
UPLIFT New Orleans will include:
- Spoken Word and Hip Hop
- Youth Performances
- Heroes of Humanity Awards
- Celebrity appearances and speakers
- Dynamic interactive processes
- Talk by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
- The Universal Declaration of Human Values
- Call to Action
