International Association for Human Values
An Introduction to the International Association for Human Values
The International Association for Human Values (IAHV) is a non-profit educational & humanitarian NGO, active in over 145 countries. It is dedicated to creating peace and fostering human values within the global community, seeking to achieve this by first strengthening the individual.

Our innovative programs eliminate stress, create a sense of belonging, restore human values, and encourage people from all backgrounds, religions, and cultural traditions to come together in celebration and service.

As a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the International Association for Human Values works in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, participating in a variety of committees and activities relating to health, education, sustainable development, conflict resolution and disaster relief efforts.

The organization has developed at an exceptional rate. Officially regarded as the fastest growing NGO by the United Nations, the Foundation is also the largest volunteer based organization in the world. In just 25 years, 20 million people have benefited from its programs which are conducted in over 145 countries across the globe.

IAHV prides itself on making sure that every contribution reaches its target. It has kept its operating costs to just 3% by being an entirely volunteer, member based organization.

The cornerstone of the many IAHV courses is the unique technique taught on the Art of Living Course, the
Sudarshan Kriya®. Developed by His Holiness, the Sudarshan Kriya is a special breathing technique which triggers the mind and body to release stress. This powerful practice has a profound effect on the mind, body and spirit.

The breath is the key link between the mind, body, and emotions. Attention to the rhythms of the breath and their effect on health was part of the ancient knowledge of the art of living.

The key to understanding the enormous health benefits of the Sudarshan Kriya and related breathing practices lies in understanding the relationship between the breath, the mind, the emotions, and the body. By learning a special pattern of breathing, one can rid the system of accumulated stress and toxins, as well as release negative emotions and rejuvenate the body.

Recent medical research has confirmed the beneficial effects of the Sudarshan Kriya (and its related practices) taught in Art of Living courses.

"We need to do a cleansing process within ourselves. In sleep we get rid of fatigue, but the deeper stresses remain in our body. Sudarshan Kriya cleanses the system from the inside. The breath has a great secret to offer." - Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
